Laundrylux recently took part in Free Laundry Day sponsored by the Laundry Cares Foundation and Electrolux-equipped Laundry City in Baltimore, MD. It was a great day had by all and we were thrilled to participate and give back to the community! The Laundry Cares Foundation was created by the Coin Laundry Association and has a long-standing history of supporting the self-service laundry industry and communities across the United States.
Laundrylux sent 7 volunteers to work at the event on July 28th. John Pinnock (owner of Laundry City) and the Laundry Cares Foundation set up a huge tent in the parking lot where they served lunch, snacks, ice cream, and drinks. They had a DJ and raffles for TVs, bicycles, and other prizes. Along with the free wash and dry, customers were given free soap, bleach, dryer sheets, and fabric softener. Laundry City also had volunteers from the library reading and playing with the children. The smiles were contagious! Whoever thought laundry day could be so much fun!
In addition, for each person that did their laundry that day, Laundry City donated a dollar to the Johns Hopkins Pediatric Cancer Unit.
